Hustler’s Inspiration: Staring Through Your Rearview
It’s gone. It’s not coming back. See you later alligator.
I’m talking about your past. Sometimes we let the decisions and tribulations of the past haunt our everyday living, making us believe that we can’t do something because of what we have experienced or gone through. The fear of a repeat occurrence thwarts any effort to overcome sincere challenges, and it’s that same fear that has killed many a thought, vision, or dream. Fear is present in many forms, some big and some small, but what all these forms have in common is the ability to make you second guess yourself and allow you to be slow to react to a situation, or act out what you really want to do or say.
Fear tells you to play it safe, be cool, and stick to what you know. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

This inspiration is inspired by a song by the late TuPac (2 Pac) Shakur called ‘Staring Through My Rearview.’ Although the lyrics are R-rated, the message is there for anyone who is willing to listen. Here’ are some small samples from the lyrics of the song:
Starin’ at the world through my rearview
just lookin’ back at the world
from another level (you know what I mean)
staring…
This part is the intro and the perfect summary for the song. The more I think about it, the more powerful it is! It’s similar to Neo in the Matrix…having the ability to look at and understand the makeup of the world, and seeing things for what they really are. Neo was able to see the code of the Matrix at one point, and he finally ‘understood.’ This is a feeling that almost cannot be explained, but once you reach this pinnacle, nothing can stop you! Can you imagine understanding people and their psyche, their needs, their wants, and being able to use that information to your advantage in marketing and sales? Can you imagine getting a ‘yes’ more often than a ‘no?’ You have to believe it is possible, you have to ’see’ the world from another level.

I’m seeing nothing but my dreams coming true
While I’m staring at the world through my rearview
Repeat this five times daily, and feel the emotion behind the words! You have to see where you’re going to know how to get there (seeing…my dreams coming true), and you have to know where you’ve been to avoid the same mistakes (staring …through my rearview). Here’s more:
The world, the world is behind us
Once a [person] gets an understanding on the game
and what the levels and the rules of the game is
Then the world ain’t no trick no more
The world is a game to be played
So now we lookin’ at the world, from like, behind us
[People] know what we gotta do, just gotta put our mind to it and do it
It’s all about the papers, money rule the world
Staring through your rearview means to look at the world — the events and happenings of today — as if it is behind you. You live each day looking forward, and the objects that are in your ‘rearview mirror’ — the hurt, the pain, the challenges, the disappointments, the fears — those are all behind you now, getting smaller as the days go by. Once you understand this concept, one you let go and only see the dream of where you want to be and put action behind attaining it, then you will see the corresponding changes in your life. Whether online or offline, whatever you want and how fast you get it is directly proportional to how willing you are to take the chance and move forward, while releasing all doubts and insecurities.
You know what you have to do, now it’s time to put your mind to it and do it. Get Ya Hustle On!

Excellent advice

I always say you cant live in the past!
I agree-can’t move forward if you’re always looking back.
You have a good attitude! I wish more people thought like that. We’d have a better world, and fewer poor people.
You seem to be active on Shoemoney….any chance of emulation?
Instead of the new posts, could have popular posts….it would be helpful for first timers like me.
I love and miss Tupac, he was and still is such a prolific writter.
Good post on not looking back. It’s the only to fast fwd to the future.
You’re so right. Every day is a chance to wipe the slate clean and start anew. The past doesn’t exist, cannot touch you unless you let it. You’d think I was ACTUALLY putting it into practice though! Nope. I’m still stumbling. I’m a creature of habit.
There ain’t nothing you’ve said here that ain’t true. Fear is such a powerful thing. Thank you for this.
