Let me tell you something, if a brother whips out a coupon to pay for dinner or date and I see it, I can guarante we will not be going out again. A first date is suppose to be extravagant and handing the waiter a coupon says look at me I'm cheap and so is my date. Now if he can pull it off and I don't see it and we become a dating couple then I am all for saving cash, that just means the diamond will be larger.

Sorry I just had a Gold Digger moment! Coupons should be used when appropriate.

Thanks for the article:)

Coolio, I come from the old school. I remember once offering to pay my share on a date (I was at university at the time) and my date put his hand over my purse and asked me, "Who asked who out? So you can put that away". I learnt early on that a gentleman would never allow a girl to pay (particularly on a first date). Women reciprocate in other ways, making dinner, preparing picnics etc.

The other reason women do not want to see a coupon on first dates is because (many times this is subconscious), we need to know that a man can care for us financially once married. We have babies, our careers are usually disrupted to raise families etc and many times the man is left being the sole bread winner. Generally too, people do not like tightwads and being married to one is a nightmare (I've seen those marriages and they are not in the slightest fun to observe).

So yes, I am from the old school but it worked for my parents (and theirs!) so it can't be all that bad ;-)

@ Mike - Thanks for the glowing review! I have been to Mike's site, and I have to say he is a bona fide hustler! I encourge everyone to visit him because he has some good information listed.

@ Budget Babe - I never understood that about women, and I honestly never want to. If the company is good and you go to a nice place, AND you aren't offering to pay anything (keyword: offer), it really shouldn't matter.

I've gone to free movies with many people and only paid for snacks, we had a great time!
