This week, Da Hustler introduces something new to the Hustle Highlight series: video reviews! This presentation chronicles a snapshot of the site being reviewed, so years from now you can see how the hustle has been enhanced over time and where it is present day. Also, you will see that Da Hustler has raised the bar and added a quick summary of the highlighted website and its related stats. This is something that will undoubtedly be copied throughout the blogging world, as it gives pertinent information instead of just a bland personal review. Why is the site noteworthy? How long has it been around? What are some of the best features? You may have seen reviews on other sites, but Da Hustler is the only one bringing you what you want and need, all in one place. Just remember you saw it here first!
My first video Highlight shines the light on OneYearGoal.com. This site is run by a ‘regular’ guy whose goal is to make $100,000 over the course of one year, mainly using online hustles. **Caution: This video is LOOOUD and will wake the dead, so be sure to adjust your speakers accordingly. (sorry about this, I do know about it and future videos will be at a normal level)

Nice video review. I think more and more blogger are going to have to do something like this as the video format becomes more popular to do things in.
Your accent sounds like that of someone who would hustle.
I don’t know if I would agree that more color is necessary. You think it might take away from the text?
As for OneYearGoal, it would be nice if people could learn a little bit more about the man behind the website. I think readers could identify with the goal more if they could put a face, a name, and a history to the guy writing it.
The fireboard plugin looks great, but there’s been delay after delay while the guy moves from one project to another. He might be stretching himself too thin, but then we don’t know about what’s going on behind the scenes.
A daily update of what he did to get closer to his goal would be interesting.

Thanks JD! Maybe if more pictures were added, it would suffice in lieu of ‘colors.’ As far as knowing the man, well he posts a lot of info about what he does, so I dunno if that would help. Do you want to make money with him or just watch his progress? That’s a question I think people should ask.
You have some great ideas, so hopefully OneMan will appreciate the ‘mini review’ that you gave him.

Well, if he’s a ‘fake it until he makes it’ guy, then that’s fine. If he’s a 14-year-old kid in his parent’s basement, I’d understand why he’d be pressed for time.
What’s his day job? What other blogs or sites has he run? What kind of authority is he bringing to his advice?
Now, if he posted maybe something like a daily running total of the cash he’s made, I think that would be more exciting. Don’t you?
At least we could learn from what he’s done wrong, which can be information that’s more valuable than what someone’s done right, sometimes.

cooliojones,
Great review. This is definitely topping the “Weekly Review Review”. What software did you use to create the video? Also, the RSS is up to 161 today…I’m working hard to make the blog a real resource.
JD…I’m working on some other projects. Right now I’ve got a dating book in the works, a blog called “A Man’s Man” up and running, albeit slowly.
My day job is grad student, and the running tally is in the works (see the progress page for more info.)
One Man. One Year. $100,000 Online. How’s he doing it?

Keep up your hustle!

Thanks guys. Da Hustle is a great resource and I will continue to bring the great content as well. I used Camtasia for the bulk of the video, and Windows Movie Maker (yuck!) for the rest. The next ones will be made with iMovie. Much much better.

That was just awesome. You have an amazing voice too, which makes it much more impressive.
I have reservations about these one year websites, mostly because what happens after the one year? What appeal is there to stick around after that time line? I’m interested to see as there have been many blogs with these types of goals springing up. I don’t see them lasting longer than their goal, especially if they’ve titled it ‘one year goal’ instead of something that could be branded in another direction later.
I do think it needs more colors and possibly as you said just more images might help with that. I have been to his site a lot and you highlighted really what is going on, the small details that really do make his blog stand out!

Thanks for your input Gnomey! You have some great insights there.
One thing about the ‘one year’ type websites is that people are inspired by what others do. If one man can do it, anyone can, that’s the mentality. So when OneMan and others achieve their goals, they can do many things with the site, such as make another goal, or keep tabs on the ventures they are already pursuing. By then they have shown it can be done, so it’s up to the user to do what they wish with the information.
Same on Da Hustle. Many, many ideas are present here, I can’t possibly do them all as quickly as I put them up, but since they are all different, someone somewhere can find value and implement them to kick start their live and ‘Be the man.’

I have been reading this blog for quite some time, and you reminded me why!

Excellent review. The video truly makes it come alive. If I wasn’t so lazy I’d steal your idea.

Great review but there have been a zillion guys saying they are documenting their progress of money making online.
One Year Goal does seem to be one of the fastest growing ones, but I don’t know it that will be enough. 147 subscribers is a good start… but nowhere near to making the $100,000
